Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. I hope you all have/had a wonderful day! This is a card that I made during a stamp class last month. The stamp set is from Stampin' Up! Vintage Vogue. I cut out the I stamped 2 flowers and 4 leaves and cut them out. Then layered them and glued on a pearl onto each flower. Used the scalloped edge punch, wrapped ribbon around the punched cardstock and tied a bow. Used Sierra Sand CS layered onto Baroque Burgundy CS. Used the tag punch and layered onto burgundy cs and cut to layer. And there you have it. This card is very elegant and versatile. You can use any sentiment or just no sentament at all.

Gift Bow How To
Have you seen those bows that you pull the ribbons or string that are hanging down and as you are pulling the ribbon is scrunching and becoming a bow? Well I was surfing the internet and I found this post on how to make your own Pull Gift Bows. Click and you'll be taken to the tutorial.
I have a lot of 12 x 12 paper that I need storage and I've been looking around to find some reasonable shelves for my paper and I came across this great idea. I found was a paper cube using used mailing boxes. This is a great idea and $$ cost saving. It will work until I get enough $$ to purchase something else, unless these last and I can make them sturdy to store all my papers. I think I can make it more sturdy by using thicker cardboard or even mat board would be strong enough to use between the shelves. You'll understand what I'm talking about when you read the tutorial. You can find the tutorial here.

Sizzix Texture Boutique
Wow! I got my Sizzix Texture Boutique cardmaking kit and it's awesome. Here is a my first card I made using my new Sizzix Texture Boutique. You get the Flowers and Daisies embossing plate and the Swirls and Dots embossing plate (this one is big enough to use on an 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card.
On this card I used the Swirls and Dots on my vanilla cs. I then embossed the plum cardstock that came with the kit, using the Flowers and Daisies embossing plate. The sample cardstock that came with the kit is white core so I used the sand paper that also came with the kit to sand the flowers and frame to give the white look of the embossed flowers and frame. Added some apricot brads and some natural hemp that I wrapped around the bottom. Added a couple of strips of decorative paper. Adhered my flowers and frame with pop dots. Very easy and quick card. Check my post down below for the details of this great offer from Sizzix. You get all the materials listed for $39.99, that's a great price for everything you get.
Here is a close up of my card. Sorry, it's a little blurry, I was trying to get it at an angle so you can see the embossing.

Thank You
Hello..... Haven't posted or been stamping for awhile. Been taking care of my husband that had gullblader surgery a couple of weeks ago. It should have been a simple procedure, but it ended up being a very long surgery. He is home now recuping and is doing well. Still in pain from all that surgery but in good spirits.
Anyway, back to stamping and cards. I'm finally taking some time to start up on stamping and making some cards. Here is a Thank You card that I made. My cousin Nancy requested some "Thank You" cards so I'm starting on them. Nancy, I'm getting them made for you and will have them mailed shortly. Sorry for the delay. Here's another card I made. I call it my Gift Box card. I have the template in my templates file . You'll be able to find it there for you to download. I had some antique yellow cardstock that I made the main box out of (just cut the whole template from the antique yellow. Then cut the lid out of some coordinating ds paper. I used a brown marker to make the box edges.
Here is another Gift Card box I had made a while back. This one I made from white cs and used one of Stampin' Up!'s DS papers for the lid. And Stamped Birthday Wishes at the bottom. Download the template and try one for yourself. They're not hard to make. The first one I made, I just used some regular copy paper so that I got a feeling of what I needed to do. After that, your imagination takes over. Share your design with us.

A Little Easter Humor
This email was sent to me from my sister. Cute!
A lady opened her refrigerator and saw a rabbit sitting on one of the shelves.
"What are you doing in there?" she asked.
The rabbit replied:
"This is a Westinghouse, isn't it?"
To which the lady replied "Yes."
"Well," the rabbit said, "I'm westing!"
Happy Easter
Here's another email. This is crazy! I did it and it really works.
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
Don't tell me your age; you'd probably lie anyway but
the Hershey Man will know!
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING
DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute . Work this out as you read .
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would
like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)
2. Multiply this number by 2
3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator
5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1760 .
If you haven't, add 1759.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.
7. You should have a three digit number
8. The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).
The next two numbers are YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)
THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2010) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.
