Mini Magazine File Box

I saw these Mini Magazine File Boxes and I just fell in love. I first saw these on Becky Roberts blog for 3 x 3 cards. I wanted to make one for regular size cards 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" so I kept searching . . . . and I found Melinda's blog Sunflower Stamping and she has a tutorial for the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 box......YEAH!! I just didn't want to resize Becky's myself, just being lazy. I knew someone out there probably already did that. Melinda's tutorial is very easy. So here is what I came up with......

I used Stampin Up Petals & Paisley DSP. I wanted to make my box stronger so I used the white cardboard that comes in the DSP packages (I save all of those, even the cardboard that comes on the back of note pads, they come in handy for craft projects) to make my box and covered the white with the Designer Paper. This made the box more strong and not flimsey. I also used Tombows Multi Purpose Glue and Red Liner tape to make sure it doesn't come apart. And I just added some paper flowers to embellish. I also made some matching cards to go inside. . . . .

These are a few of the cards I made to go inside the box. These are great Christmas gifts to give. I'm going to be participating in some craft sales this fall and I think these would be great to have to sell. Well, this is one of my projects that I was working on this past weekend. I'll post some more later. I went to a stamping class and we made some really cute cards and another bag/box. I'll show that next time. It is really cute, you'll just love it. Thanks for stopping by, until next time.

Weekend Sketch Challenge 89

Here is this Weekend Sketch Challenge #89 by Lori Craig. Hope you can join in the fun. I'll be posting my card later. It's so hot here there is nothing else to do! I think it's going to be 115 degrees today. Wow! All you can do is sit under the fan to stay cool. I'm trying to get my craft room back into an organized place, so I'll be working on that today. Then I'll be able to get back to doing what I just love to do - Card Making! I'll be able to get back to stamping and papercrafts so I can post here and on my web. I'll post pictures of my craft room once I get it all organized. Right now it's just a big mess, with stuff everywhere. It's CRAZY!
So post your Weekend Sketch Challenge 89, sketches on Splitcoaststampers, so I can take a peak at what you've been up to Use keywork WSC89. You can see plenty of inspiration if you visit Beate, Cambria, Charmaine, Jenn, MaryJo and Sharon. Can't wait to see what you've created. Have a great weekend everybody! Stay COOL!
